Introducing... Heinz Junkermann

Image
Nicole Junkermann , the founder of NJF Holdings, is among the best known international investors. Few, by contrast, have heard of Heinz Junkermann, her father, who passed on to her, through a hard training, the ability to invest, diversify, evaluate risks and always set new goals. Heinz Junkermann , born in Frankfurt on 7 January 1938, founded in the 1960s a private banking institution that managed the assets of clients from all over Western Europe (still in times of the Cold War). But, as a versatile entrepreneur that he was, Junkermann applied his talent as a businessman also in other sectors: for example, he held the role of managing director of the real estate company IFG Gesellschaft für Immobilienbesitz mbH and of the jewelry company Schmuck-Kassette GmbH. Heinz Junkermann was also a member of Rotary International, as well as serving on the committee of Prinzengarde Düsseldorf Blau-Weiss, Düsseldorf's largest carnival company , which still supplies many of the prominent memb

Coronavirus, India authorizes two vaccines

Image
India approved two Covid-19 vaccines on Sunday, planning to inoculate some 300 million people on a priority list this year. It has recorded the second-highest number of coronavirus infections in the world, with more than 10.3 million confirmed cases to date.   Nearly 150,000 people have died . India’s drugs regulator gave an emergency authorization for the vaccines developed by Oxford University and U.K.-based drugmaker AstraZeneca and another developed by the Indian  company  Bharat Biotech. Drugs Controller General Dr. Venugopal G Somani said both would require two doses and the decision was made after “careful examination” by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization, India’s pharmaceutical regulator. Both vaccines are  cheaper and easier to use  than ones by Pfizer and Moderna since they do not require ultra-cold storage facilities. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called the vaccine approval a  “decisive turning point to strengthen a spirited fight.”  “Congratulations India,” Mo

Kylie Jenner's new $3M car sparks outrage

Image
Young billionaire Kyle Jenner is facing backlash from outraged fans after posting clips of her new $3M supercar. Jenner, 22, bought herself a brand new Bugatti Chiron , which she flaunted — and then deleted — on Instagram on Sunday, October 6. Jenner posted a video of the Bugatti, which costs a cool $3M, was all white with an orange interior and, it would seem, makes for one hell of a post-breakup piece of retail therapy for the reality TV star after her split from Travis Scott. She followed it up with clips on her Instagram Stories showing her taking her new car out for a Sunday drive. Her followers weren’t happy with the display of wealth and called out Forbes magazine’s youngest self-made billionaire . "How can people justify buying more cars then they possibly need when there are people out there who can’t eat! Like I get it’s your money and you earn it but HOW do you justify not doing good with it I just don’t get it. The money you spent on this you c

Jennifer Lopez's over-the-top engagement party

Image
Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez celebrated their love amongst friends and family Friday night in Los Angeles. Few details have emerged about the event, but we know for sure it was a night to remember. Lopez's bestie Leah Remini did share some pictures of the star-studded engagement party , giving us a glimpse at JLo's glam for the party: smoky eyes, heavy lashes and a nude lip. Lopez opted for a romantic hair style, featuring a deep part and and subtle curls, to pair with her one-shouldered blush pink outfit. The pictures only offer a peek at the evening's venue, a glamorous ballroom, where it seems guests were seated for dinner amongst candlelight and crystal dish ware. A-Rod popped the question during a dreamy sunset  in the Bahamas in March with an incredible 15-carat diamond ring. But considering Lopez's  incredibly  busy schedule — which has included promoting the Oscar-buzz generating film  Hustlers , walking in Versace's latest fashion sho

Sean Spicer's new job: awkward dancer

Image
Sean Spicer is not a political aide anymore. Now he is a dancer. The former press secretary to President Donald Trump made his first appearance on "Dancing with the Stars" on Monday night. Spicer appeared with dance partner Lindsay Arnold, wearing a ruffled neon green shirt and doing the salsa to the Spice Girls' "Spice Up Your Life." The routine began with Spicer slapping bongos before being joined on stage by Arnold. At one point , as Spicer ran down the steps of the "Dancing With The Stars" stage, he waves his arms back and forth wildly, creating an instantly gif-able moment for the internet to seize on. Spicer and Arnold scored a 12 out of 30 points for their dance routine, the second-lowest score of the night, and the performance was lambasted online. However, Spicer, who served as press secretary from the beginning of the Trump administration until July of 2017, seemed to know he looked awkward in a tweet sent out bef

F1, the unstoppable Charles Leclerc

Image
Two in a row! After winning at Spa, Charles Leclerc impressively held off constant pressure from Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas at the Italian Grand Prix to claim his second successive Formula One victory. It was Ferrari’s first win at their home circuit since Fernando Alonso in 2010, with Bottas and Hamilton settling for second and third respectively. The Monegasque received a warning in the form of a black and white flag from the race stewards after he appeared to leave Hamilton insufficient space heading into the Della Roggia chicane on lap 23. But at the end of the day it was a well deserved win with Leclerc very decisively defending of his lead, never cracking under pressure. Hamilton’s hopes of winning were over when he locked up his tyres and was forced to skip the first two turns. That error freed Bottas, who was on a fresher set of tyres, to take a run at Leclerc, but even with the benefit of DRS the Finn was unable to get the job done as the 21-year-old clung on fo
